My boyfriend and I are building off the grid in southwest texas...when we're not working.
. Our current unfinished cabin has been built with all recycled materials. We got everything for free except the roof...it was 150. bucks..on craigslist. we got a lot of plywood from crates that were holding the new dallas stadium's glass...the crates were also free. We have wanted 2 build a stone house on our land...we are now toying with the idea of an earthship instead of stone. We think that stone will take a lot longer to do and gather...while tires seem more readily available...and recycled.
